Opal Care & Protection
Opals are delicate gems (5.5-6.5 on Mohs scale). Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and harsh chemicals. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild soapy water. Store separately in a soft pouch to prevent scratching from harder stones like diamonds.
Diamond & Gemstone Cleaning
Diamonds attract oils and can become dull. Soak in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap and gently scrub with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a lint-free cloth.
Metal Polishing & Re-rhodium
Gold and platinum will naturally develop a patina over time. White gold requires periodic rhodium plating (every 12-24 months) to maintain its bright white finish. Use a professional polishing cloth for minor surface brightening.
Annual Professional Inspections
We recommend an annual professional check-up. We inspect the security of all stone settings, check for prong wear, and provide a complimentary deep ultrasonic cleaning (where appropriate) and steam finish.
